Student Academic Experience

2. Assessment Performance
Support continuous improvement in student performance on internal and external assessments through a balanced, whole-child approach. As the District implements academic supports and intervention strategies to advance student achievement, it will continue to consider the importance of providing students with access to a well-rounded educational experience that includes music, the arts, and extracurricular opportunities. Annual updates to the Board will include information on academic progress and the District's efforts to maintain a balanced educational program.
- Increase the percentage of students scoring Proficient or Advanced on Keystone exams (Algebra 1 and Literature) on their first attempt by 4 percentage points from prior year in each content area.
- Increase the percentage of students scoring Proficient or Advanced on PSSA exams (Reading and Math, grades 3-8) by 5 percentage points from the prior year in each content area and grade level (ex. 3rd grade Math).
- Increase the percentage of students meeting grade-level expectations on internal district assessments in reading and math. Decrease percentage of students scoring below proficiency by 5 percentage points from prior year.

3. Student Screen Time Policy
The district will implement a balanced approach to student screen time that eliminates non-essential usage and prioritizes purposeful, curriculum-aligned use.
- Implement the Ed Tech Advisory Council's recommendations for the 2026–2027 school year to promote intentional, developmentally appropriate use of student devices, implementing the recommendations as soon as appropriate.
- Opt-in policy for K–6 students to bring devices home
- Eliminating device use during recess and minimizing use during arrival, dismissal, and snack at teacher discretion;
- Default “allow list” for K–2 student devices

4. Fiscally Responsible Budget
Develop a fiscally responsible budget inclusive of the varied needs of the district.

2. Advanced Course Access Review
