12. Curriculum - Approval of a Site License with Translate Live for a one-year term

TranslateLive provides real time two-way translated communication in over 220 languages and dialects. This license will allow all PASD employees to access the platform via a login that can be used on laptops, ipads, or smartphones in addition to a stand-alone ILA pro unit for each building. This software will greatly reduce reliance on Language Line and create immediate accessibility for families in need of translation for interactions on the phone, in school offices, meetings, etc. Some of the highlighted features include:Users will be able to access a building secretary through a unique link, similar to placing a phone call and communicate in their chosen language and dialectInstant individual translation through both audio and text for large public events such as graduations and concertsEnglish speakers may access the system as a closed-captioning device Additional support for staff to communicate with multi-lingual families and/or early English learners at meetings and in the classroomAccess to translation in situations that we were previously unable to provide translation for (ex: Back to School Nights in which multiple families are traveling through different schedules)  In-person interpreters will still be utilized for some meetings like IEPs, discipline discussions, or other meetings of a sensitive nature, however this addition will allow us to create a further reach to families and increase our offerings, while also reducing costs overall.
